Exclusive country house wedding at Surrey venue, Botleys Mansion

There’s often a perception that country house weddings are formal and even stuffy, that was definitely not the case at Charlotte and Rob’s Botleys Mansion wedding.

Consider your wedding photos when choosing your venue

This wedding was the perfect balance of elegance, emotion and fun, and the exclusive Palladian house, filled with character and charm, was the perfect venue for this brilliant couple.

Botleys Mansion by Harper Weddings was also a wedding photographer’s paradise. From meandering down the leafy private drive and being surrounded by rolling parkland, to arriving at the stunning Palladian house, this Surrey wedding venue takes your breath away. The interior was like a maze – every corner I turned, there was another room filled with character in abundance.

The Green Room, Botleys Mansion

The Green Room, where the ceremony was held, was beautifully intimate and decorated in soft pastel hues. There was also a stunning chandelier in the centre of the room and intricately decorated ceilings. The flowers, by The Fine Flowers Co, running down the aisle and framing the couple during the ceremony were perfectly suited to the style and colours of the room. The lanterns also made the ceremony cosy and intimate.

The Atrium, Botleys Mansion

The Atrium is a light-filled, contemporary space with a central staircase that led the couple to their eagerly awaiting guests for their wedding breakfast. I captured some amazing photos of the light pouring onto the staircase, which looked stunning in colour but also really impactful in black and white. The flower display at the bottom of the staircase created a real wow-factor.

The stone staircase

Some wedding venues don’t always lend themselves to great group shots, but the entrance to Botleys Mansion was absolutely ideal. The grand stone staircases, leading to the entrance, meant I could split the group between two levels, making it much easier to get everyone in. This grand setting also made for awesome shots of Charlotte and Rob together.

Wedding drone shots

This was the first time I flew my drone for a wedding and I spent hours practicing in the lead-up to the big day. It was a super windy day so I did have a few hairy moments, but I was pleased with the shots I did manage to capture of this stunning Surrey wedding venue.

The dance floor

Now this was one hell of a party! I’m not sure that the twinkling dancefloor has ever witnessed moves like it. My cheeks were genuinely hurting on the drive home from laughing so much! One of my favourite moments was seeing a dad trying to get his baby off to sleep, but he couldn’t bear to be missing out, so the pram joined him on the dancefloor instead.

What do you want from your wedding photography?

This isn’t always something that couples think too deeply about. They look for certain wedding photography styles but don’t question how their photos will be captured at their venue.

Botleys Mansion was reflective of Charlotte and Rob’s personalities, which shone through in their photos. My photography is always bespoke to the individuals and if you’d like to have a chat about capturing your special day in a way that’s personal to you, then just send me an email to schedule a call.
